I posted another video this afternoon on youtube.

How this is related to writing is that I wrote the script for my video. ha, ha.

Anyway, this one is only 3 1/2 minutes long, if you’d like the experience of viewing my attempt at teaching without the endless droning.

Discovering Writing Time

I have found a way to dedicate a certain amount of time to writing. It may be obvious to everyone else, but it just became apparent to me.
If I close every opened internet site, and only use what is on my computer – my files and saved ideas – I will spend time strictly writing.
I did this today because my son had a webinar and I didn’t want to interfere in any way with it. I asked him if I needed to turn off my computer so he would not be disturbed? I already knew I wasn’t going to watch any videos. He said as long as I wasn’t online anywhere, it probably wouldn’t interfere if I left my computer on.
So I’ve sat here and written my monologue for my next readingbymscorbett video. Then I wrote an article about Michelle Obama and how she had reasons for wanting school children to be hungry during the school day.
I’ve wondered how to get in a certain amount of writing time daily. I keep websites open because I frequently do research while writing. I see that I can make notes and search the web when the writing time is over.
My son’s webinar lasts one hour. That will be the time I devote daily, for now, to writing with no internet available.
I have a book that is almost completely written about a blindman. I started printing out pages from it . . . scenes and chapters I’ve written, so I could go through and read it like a book. I wrote it like a grasshopper, putting down different scenes out of chronological order. Now I must assemble them and read through and smooth the transitions as well as write anything relevant that was left out. That’s easier for me to do if it’s printed out. As I do this, I also want to search for an agent.
I don’t think now is a good time to print out anything, during his webinar, but it will be a priority tomorrow.
They say things happen for a reason. This has been a new experience, being off the internet as I write. I have learned something from it.

Walmart’s Website Is Messed Up!

Walmart’s website has been unavailable for days. I saw online that others cannot use it either. I sent them an email about the problem and they sent me an answer saying to “try again” to login to the site. I did, and got the same jumbled mess that has popped up for days, instead of their website.

How can a company ignore notices about their website? They have this picture that pops up to insure it’s my account when I sign in. Heck, I can’t even get the Walmart website to load correctly at all. There is no “security picture” anywhere on the gray buttoned site that cannot be used.

I wonder if folks who have charge accounts with Walmart don’t pay their bills because they can’t access their accounts, if Walmart will miss the money?

I wonder if they notice that their online sales are dropping?

I don’t understand a company being so cavalier about its online presence.

Latest Video

This video is about Initial Consonant Substitution. I’m a Reading Specialist who no longer teaches and thought I’d make a series of videos for homeschooling parents to give them tips on how to teach reading.

I, of course, have sent it to my sons and wonder if anyone else has a mother who makes videos on a youtube channel and sends each one to her children?

I spent two days on this, believe it or not. I’m moving on to the next one and will try to get that one done and published next week. My  current goal is one video per week.

Youtube sends me tips for getting more viewers and making my videos more professional, but I’m learning as I go.  As my favorite boss used to say, “We’re building this plane as we fly it” . . .

Gaslighted No More!

What Donald Trump has brought back to America are consequences. For too long, Americans have been held hostage by those who would shame them into complying with ideas and rules that they don’t agree with.

If you said a wrong word, even though there was no rule to say it was wrong, you would be swarmed by the politically correct “police” to watch every word that came out of your mouth and to never say it again!

People spent a great deal of time being “offended” by things they didn’t like and those who were doing the offending were shamed into complying with whatever the loudest squawker could squawk.

I got very, very tired of the loss of freedom of speech. I got very, very tired of the loss of self-expression.

If I dared say anything about illegal aliens, I was shunned into not saying it again. I began to wonder if I was crazy since I seemed to be the only one who understood the definition of “illegal”.

Now Donald J. Trump has entered the arena and he has given Americans back their voices. He has united us in a way that we can express outselves and we can voice our opinions, which are principles upon which this great nation was founded.

Before Donald J. Trump was elected, I was investigating ways to LEGALLY migrate to another country. I could not take it anymore and I wanted to get away from all the judgemental people who were hell-bent on shaming the rest of us into submission.

The squawkers still squawk, even with Mr. Trump as President, but their protests do not intimidate as they have in the past. Maybe that’s why they’re so angry?

I, frankly, don’t care why they are upset. What I care about is how many years they suppressed the voices of the American people as they shunned and shamed us, one by one, into accepting their view of reality and hiding what we really thought.

Donald J. Trump is signing numerous executive orders to get our country back on the path that the Constitution paved for us. It is past time to get back to the basic beliefs and premises of this great country.

As Donald Trump issues executive orders that provide consequences and rules and beliefs that parallel the Constitution, those who are affected by them are not happy. Well, all I can say is they’ve been happy too long. They almost drove this country into the ground with their beliefs that anyone in the world is equal to or maybe greater than a natural born American citizen. This is not their country. These are not their privileges and certainly they don’t share our beliefs, or the first thing they did would not be to break our laws.

It may sound as if I’m just talking about illegal aliens, but I’m not. I’m talking about Black Lives Matter folks who went around, and still try to, smashing other’s property to prove their lives matter. How about the lives and possessions of the ones whose property you destroyed? Yet, when the victims of the Black Lives Matter groups presented that idea . . . the idea, that “hey, OUR lives matter too”, the victims were told they were misinterpreting the message.

Gaslighting. That’s what many Americans have been doing to other Americans for years. They’ve told us what to believe, what to say and what to do. They’ve dictated who to help and who to support and what to think. I’m glad that era of American history is being challenged. I doubt future Americans, when they read about those recent times, will understand the degree of shaming and shunning that was employed by one group of Americans to make the others go along with the nonsense.
